Kick-Start Your Morning: 6 Morning Hacks for an Amazing Start to Your Day
You don’t need to be a morning person to start your day feeling energized and refreshed. If you usually wake up feeling sluggish, making a few healthful changes could set you on the right track for a better day. Kick-start your morning by incorporating these hacks into your morning ritual.
Start Your Day the Night Before
If you want to wake up bright-eyed and avoid rushing through your morning, get a head start the night before by planning your day and limiting activities that decrease your quality of sleep.
Take some time to plan for tomorrow – Plan your meals and snacks for the next day, consider what you’ll eat and wear. Writing out a short to-do list can also help. Additionally, gather all the items you'll need to take with you when you leave home, so you don’t need to rush around searching for them in the morning.
Pay attention to your diet – Limit coffee and caffeinated beverages after 3 p.m. Stay hydrated during the day, but avoid drinking too much water late at night to prevent waking up for bathroom breaks. Also, steer clear of large meals or alcohol late at night.
Limit blue light before bed – Blue light from electronic devices may disrupt your circadian rhythm. Limit screen time and exposure to blue light from electronic devices before bed to ensure a restful night's sleep. Help protect your eyes from the negative effects of blue light and support your eye health with BubbForest's Vision Defense, formulated with lutein, zeaxanthin, and a robust blend of antioxidants.
Take a bath earlier – Allow your body time to cool down before bed. Bathe no later than an hour before your bedtime so your body temperature is not elevated when you try to fall asleep.
Try melatonin and magnesium – Aim for about six hours of sleep a night. If you struggle with falling and staying asleep, consider trying melatonin supplements or magnesium supplements. Read more about magnesium for sleep.
Have Protein for Breakfast
Eating protein in the morning will leave you feeling more satisfied and provide a steady supply of energy for your day, potentially helping curb cravings. Protein-rich breakfast options beyond cereal include eggs, Greek yogurt, nuts, oatmeal with milk, nut butters, and chia seeds. You can still enjoy cereal, just opt for higher-protein varieties like Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Cereal, and avoid sugary options.
Try Lemon Water or an Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Drink
Drinking lemon water in the morning aids digestion, supports cleansing and detoxification of the liver, and boosts your vitamin C intake. Apple cider vinegar with mother also offers digestive support, system cleansing, and other benefits. Drink Matcha Tea as a Coffee Alternative
Matcha green tea not only is simpler to prepare than most coffee drinks, but it also provides more antioxidants and nutrients than traditional green tea. Matcha green tea offers a calm alertness with less caffeine than an average cup of coffee. Additionally, it helps you avoid morning coffee breath.
Get Your B Vitamins
Energizing B-complex vitamins help your body convert food into cellular energy. Vitamin B-12 and other B-complex vitamins provide energy support, stress reduction, free radical protection, and support your immune system. Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin, supports bone growth and mineralization, including calcium absorption. A vitamin D3 supplement can help maintain healthy bones, teeth, and immune system. Be Intentional Each Morning
