8 Ways to Use Hemp for Mind Body & Home
Hemp: A World of Opportunities!
Hemp is certainly having its moment in the sun, and with good reason. It can be used in countless ways to promote overall wellbeing in your body, in your mind, and in your home.
However, if you’re not sure where to start, the world of hemp products can seem overwhelming. To help you begin, we’ve highlighted eight easy ways to incorporate this versatile plant into your daily routine.
1. Add Hemp Hearts to Your Morning Breakfast Routine
Hemp hearts (shelled hemp seeds) are a powerful superfood worth keeping in your kitchen cabinet. They are packed with fiber, vitamins, calcium, and iron.1
With a 25% protein content and being a complete protein source, they contain all nine essential amino acids that your body needs from food.
They are also easy to integrate into simple breakfast recipes. Just sprinkle a tablespoon or two into your yogurt with fruit, on top of your hot oatmeal, or into your favorite smoothie blend!
You can further benefit from hemp’s nutritional properties by using hemp milk to make your oatmeal or as the base for your smoothie instead of other dairy or nut milk. Hemp protein powder is also a popular plant-based alternative to whey, offering similar health benefits.
2. Care for Your Hair with Hemp Oil Shampoo
Hemp oil will become your hair’s new best friend. It is incredibly moisturizing to your hair and scalp, and because it absorbs so easily, your hair never looks greasy.2
It also protects your hair’s natural texture and prevents breakage. Furthermore, its rich content of omega fatty acids and protein supports healthy hair from the inside out.
Many hair care brands offer hemp shampoo products today, but we recommend reading the ingredient labels and selecting a shampoo packed with 100% pure hemp oil, free from parabens and sulfates.
3. Decorate Your Home with Fabrics Made From Hemp Fiber
You can easily add a touch of hemp to every room of your home—not just the kitchen pantry and bathroom cabinet—because the plant produces fantastic fabric. It’s natural, durable, biodegradable, and does not release indoor air pollutants like synthetic fabrics.3
Hemp rugs and runners are a budget-friendly way to add a splash of color to your space, and they can withstand dirty pets, rowdy kids, high foot traffic, and inevitable spills.
The same applies to hemp throw pillows: they have a rich texture and are built to last. Some people even prefer hemp bedsheets in the warmer months because they are cooler and more resilient than traditional cotton.
4. Protect Your Skin From the Sun’s Harsh Rays with Hemp-Based SPF
Hemp has entered the world of natural sun care thanks to its antioxidant properties and skin-soothing qualities.4 It is also an ideal ingredient for lotion products because it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue.6
So, if you’re curious, consider trying a healthy sunscreen this summer that lists 100% pure hemp oil on the ingredients label.
5. Throw a Hemp-Derived CBD Bath Bomb in the Tub and Enjoy a Soothing Soak
A relaxing soak in the tub can solve many problems. It’s our favorite form of self-care on stressful days, and CBD hemp extracts can make this ritual even more therapeutic.
Many skin care brands now offer bath bombs infused with CBD hemp extract that effectively moisturize the skin. Combine these benefits with steamy water and the colorful, effervescent reaction of the bath bomb for a truly stress-reducing experience.
If you want to have even more fun, try making a hemp-derived CBD bath bomb from scratch in your own kitchen! They’re surprisingly easy to create, and you can make an entire batch at once to save both time and money.
Hemp-Derived CBD Bath Bomb Recipe

For each bath bomb, you’ll need:
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 1/8 cup of cornstarch

- 1/2 cup of citric acid
- 1 tablespoon of your preferred CBD hemp extract oil
- 1 teaspoon of your favorite essential oil
- 1 teaspoon of water
Instructions
- Combine baking soda, cornstarch, Epsom salts, and citric acid in a large mixing bowl
- In a smaller bowl, combine the CBD hemp extract oil, essential oil, and water
- Gradually incorporate your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients using a whisk
- Fill two sides of a spherical mold with the mixture, packing it tightly so it sets well, then press the mold closed
- Let it set overnight, then carefully remove the bath bomb from the mold and look forward to your next relaxing soak!
6. Massage Hemp-Derived CBD Balm into Tired Muscles and Joints
When a tough workout or a long day on your feet takes its toll, reach for some CBD hemp extract balm for overall wellbeing. The massaging action, moisturizing oils, and wellness-promoting botanicals can provide much-needed comfort to overworked muscles and joints.
We appreciate balms that incorporate aromatherapeutic oils as well, due to the olfactory relaxation benefits they offer.5 Simply scoop out a dime-sized portion and gently work it into the area needing a little TLC.
7. Moisturize Dry Skin with Pure Hemp Oil
Excessive summer sun and swimming can leave your skin as dry, itchy, and agitated as winter winds and frigid temperatures. Therefore, keep a hemp lotion loaded with 100% pure hemp oil on hand all year round for instant hydration.
This oil naturally conditions and moisturizes your skin, and it absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue. It’s an excellent choice for sensitive skin types. Just make sure to read those ingredient labels again, looking out for parabens and phthalates.
8. Try Hemp-Derived CBD Oil Before Bed
In recent years, CBD hemp extract oils and tinctures have gained popularity among people seeking to enhance their overall wellbeing. These products contain less than .3% THC, so you don’t have to worry about any psychoactive effects, and many formulas are vegan, gluten-free, and free of artificial ingredients.
Simply take some and settle in for a relaxing night. Add a little soft lighting, a mug of herbal tea, and a good book to the mix, and you’re sure to rest easy in no time!
