Protein-Packed Golden Milk Smoothie
Delicious Golden Milk Recipe
Golden milk is a delicious, calming beverage typically served hot. However, I've incorporated the same potent spices into this smoothie, allowing you to enjoy its benefits throughout the spring and summer months. Turmeric is the star ingredient in this smoothie, and its benefits are enhanced when combined with a specific blend of spices, which improve absorption by the body. This smoothie is packed with antioxidants, tropical fruits, and a boost of protein powder, making it not only delicious but also nutritious! It's the perfect start to your day, boosting your energy and adding pep to your step.
Golden Milk Smoothie Benefits:
Mango – a great source of carbohydrates and antioxidants, providing energy for your day.
Banana – rich in potassium, manganese, and other nutrients, offering an additional energy source from carbohydrates.
Protein powder – a healthy source of complete plant-based protein, providing essential building blocks for an active day.
Turmeric – contains beneficial compounds called curcuminoids, with curcumin being the most potent. It's a powerful antioxidant that supports the body's defenses by neutralizing free radicals.
Cinnamon – a potent antioxidant that helps maintain your health.
Ginger – a powerful spice that aids digestion and offers numerous health benefits.
Black Pepper – essential for enhancing the absorption of curcumin in turmeric, thanks to the piperine it contains.
Tips:
To sweeten the smoothie, add extra mango and banana. Using frozen fruit will thicken the smoothie, as will adding ice. (Bonus: add spinach for extra nutrition. You won't taste it, but you'll benefit from its nutritional value.)
